Skipping Segments
Skipping the remainder of a segment can be a helpful feature when firing your kiln, especially if it is the first time you are firing to a specific cone. If you check in your peep hole and see the cone has bent to maturity but your hold is not yet complete, you can skip to the next segment to begin a cool down segment sooner than originally programmed. This can prevent users from firing ware too long or at too hot of a temperature.
Skipping to the next segment can also be useful when firing glass and you need to force the kiln into a cooling stage. Utilizing the skip segment function can be a great feature, but it's important to know when you can use it. It works during a vary fire on the V6CF, a Ramp-Hold on the RTC1000 and 3Key, and all firings on the Genesis controller.
